Introduction

Steven C. A: 4.3 Travel Time and Expenses
Travel time is billed at the preparatory rate in effect at the time the services are rendered. Client agrees to reimburse all reasonable travel-related expenses, including transportation, lodging, meals, parking, tolls, and mileage at the IRS standard rate. For long-distance travel requiring air transportation, the Expert shall travel in a reasonable and comfortable class of service appropriate for the duration of the flight. Extraordinary expenses and out-of-pocket costs related to the case, such as printing, photography, and trial exhibits, shall be reimbursable at cost.
4.4 Site Inspection and In-Person Fees
When casework requires an on-site inspection, facility visit, or in-person meeting, the following rates shall apply:

On-Site Inspection Fee: Site inspections, facility tours, or field evaluations shall be billed at $500 per hour, with a three-hour minimum per visit, inclusive of local travel within 50 miles of the Expert’s office. For inspections requiring extended travel (more than 50 miles one way), time in transit will be billed at the Expert’s preparatory rate, plus travel-related expenses as detailed in §4.3 of this Agreement.

Travel Day Rate (Long Distance): For travel requiring more than four hours one way or an overnight stay, the Expert may bill a half-day (4 hours) or a full day (8 hours) at the preparatory rate, depending on the total travel time and availability.
