She also completed practicums at Kaiser Permanente and UCLA, where she focused on psychodiagnostic and neuropsychological assessments. Her extensive training includes a two-year formal post-doctoral fellowship in Pediatric Clinical Neuropsychology at The Help Group/UCLA and the UCLA Semel Institute from 2015 to 2017.

Dr. Houshiarnejad is a published author and has presented her research at numerous professional conferences, including the National Academy of Neuropsychology Annual Conference and the American Psychological Association Convention. Her work has been published in journals such as Applied Neuropsychology: Adult and the Journal of Neurotrauma.

As the founder of Asal Houshiarnejad Psychology Group, PC, in Calabasas, California, she provides comprehensive neuropsychological assessment and therapy services to children, adolescents, and young adults. She evaluates a wide range of conditions, including neurodevelopmental disorders, learning disabilities, and psychiatric and medical conditions. Dr. Houshiarnejad is passionate about bridging science and compassion in her work with children, adolescents, and young adults. She believes that every child’s story is unique and that assessments should provide more than just answers — they should offer a roadmap for growth, understanding, and support. By integrating her advanced clinical training with a culturally sensitive and family-centered approach, she empowers parents, educators, and healthcare providers with clear guidance and practical strategies that make a lasting difference. Her ultimate goal is to help young people thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, while fostering resilience and confidence that extend far beyond the testing process.
