Dr. Cunningham a board-certified general surgeon with fellowship-training and subspecialty interest in bariatric, foregut and abdominal surgery. He holds active medical licenses in Iowa and Nebraska, and is currently in active bariatric and general surgery practice in Council Bluffs, IA. He has spoken at international bariatric conferences and published multiple articles relating to bariatric and general surgery in leading international journals including Surgery for Obesity and Related Diseases (SOARD), Obesity Surgery and Lancet: Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He maintains active membership of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), and participates in national committee activities. He is also board-certified in obesity medicine through the American Board of Obesity Medicine.
