Introduction

Dr. N.G. Berrill is a Board Certified Forensic Psychologist, Director of New York Forensic, specialty areas: Criminal and Civil matters including-- Competency evaluations, Criminal Responsibility, Sex Offender evaluations, Risk Assessment, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Neuropsychology (brain impairment, learning disabilities, developmental anomalies). Dr. Berrill received his graduate training at Columbia University and Vanderbilt University. He was a Clinical Psychology intern at Sheppard Pratt Hospital in Maryland and completed his Post-doctoral Fellowship/Residency at Medstar Rehabilitaion Hospital/Georgetown Medical School in Clinical Neuropsychology located in Washington D.C.,For nearly 30 years he has worked in forensics and has served as a consultant to the U.S. Dept. of Probation and Pre-trial Services. He has been called to testify in State and Federal Court by Defense attorneys and the U.S. Attorney's office in both the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Dr. Berrill has also consulted with Homeland Security and the FBI. He has participated in numerous documentaries related to violent behavior, sex crimes and terrorism. Forensic evaluations can be conducted in English and Spanish. During the course of his professional practice he has worked on high-profile cases which demanded an ability/facility to review and analyze complex information in order to produce nuanced and compelling reports that have proven to be quite effective in addressing both criminal and civil matters. His reports have been utilized to resolve many cases and provide the basis for clear and effective courtroom testimony.
