Dr. Molly Meier, Psy.D.
Dr. Molly E. Meier is a Clinical and Forensic Psychologist with extensive experience in Correctional Healthcare, Mental and Behavioral Health, Psychological Evaluations, and Crisis Intervention. Her areas of expertise include Prison Suicides, Mental Health Policy and Procedures, Substance Abuse Treatment and Prevention, Employee Wellness, and Law Enforcement Training.
Dr. Meier currently serves as a Mental Health Services Director for the Illinois Department of Corrections. In this role, she leads a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, licensed mental health professionals, and behavioral health staff. She is responsible for ensuring compliance with mental health practices, overseeing mental health evaluations and treatment planning, conducting risk assessments and after-action investigations, supervising clinical staff, and providing leadership for one of the Midwest's largest correctional reception centers.
Previously, Dr. Meier held several leadership positions with the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the Illinois Department of Corrections, where she conducted psychological testing, forensic interviewing, crisis intervention, behavioral threat assessments, and de-escalation training. She has trained clinicians and law enforcement personnel in crisis assessment, resiliency, suicide prevention, and behavioral health best practices. Her leadership experience also focused on employee wellness, policy development, and healthcare quality improvement.
Dr. Meier has testified before Senate Judiciary committees and prepared expert reports for Congress. She currently serves as a Clinical Psychology Expert with Evidence Solutions, Inc., assisting attorneys in both state and federal matters involving mental and behavioral health issues.
