Introduction

Dr. Meghan M. Kubala is a physician with advanced clinical training in general surgery and specialized experience in wound care. She currently serves as a wound surgeon with Cresent Wound Care and Integrity Wound Physicians in San Diego, California, where she provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment planning for nursing home patients. Prior to this, she held a similar role with Advantage Surgical and Wound Care in Central Valley, California, managing surgical patients and collaborating with clinical teams in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

Dr. Kubala completed three years of general surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW), training across Clements University Hospital, Parkland Hospital, Children’s Medical Center, and the Dallas VA system. She previously trained as a general surgery resident at Kaweah Delta Healthcare District in Visalia, California, and began her residency at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in 2017, where she was selected into the SELECT program, a leadership-focused track emphasizing values-based, patient-centered care. Prior to medical school, Dr. Kubala earned a Master of Science in Biotechnology with a concentration in Physiology from Johns Hopkins University, and a Bachelor of Science in Physiology and Neurobiology from the University of Maryland, College Park, where she also minored in English Literature and Psychology.

Her early career includes several years of research and laboratory leadership at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where she worked on multidisciplinary studies in infectious disease, neurology, and gastroenterology. She also coordinated a multi-center study under Dr. Trish Perl, MD, M.Sc., and held multiple roles in research program development and data management.

In addition to her clinical and research work, Dr. Kubala has been active in global medical missions, including trips to the Dominican Republic and El Salvador. She has held leadership positions in community outreach, medical student wellness, and domestic violence advocacy. She is a member of the American College of Physicians, American College of Surgeons, American Medical Association, and state/local medical societies in both California and Texas.
