Introduction

Marc H. Shomer, MD, PhD, QME is a board-certified ophthalmologist in active surgical practice who has performed more than 20,000 eye surgical procedures, including cataract and laser-assisted cataract surgery, premium lens implants, intravitreal injections and oculoplastic procedures. He is Adjunct Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, where he has taught since 2009, and a State of California Qualified Medical Evaluator. He holds an MD and a PhD in neuroscience from UCLA and trained at the Jules Stein Eye Institute. Dr. Shomer reviews records, examines patients, writes reports and testifies for plaintiff and defense counsel nationwide in malpractice, eye injury, vision loss and workers' compensation matters.
