Introduction

Dr. Kheng Joe Lau is a board-certified internal medicine physician with fellowship training in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism from the University of Minnesota. He completed his internal medicine residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. Based in Minnesota, he currently delivers specialty endocrine care across multiple rural communities in Wisconsin and trained in academic, county, and VA hospital systems, gaining experience with diverse and underserved populations.

Dr. Lau’s areas of expertise include diabetes management and complications (DKA, HHS, hypoglycemia, foot ulcers, amputations), adverse effects of GLP-1 medications (e.g., Ozempic-related gastroparesis and pancreatitis), osteoporosis-related complications (including hip fractures and atypical femur fractures), testosterone therapy, thyroid, adrenal, and pituitary disorders, hormone therapy, and delayed diagnosis of endocrine conditions.

He has completed formal expert witness training through SEAK and currently conducts independent medical reviews in endocrinology, with a focus on disability assessments and medical necessity evaluations.
