Introduction

Joseph ‘Joe’ Moon is a Forensic Biomechanical Engineer specializing in Injury Biomechanics and Accident Reconstruction. His work addresses a central question in injury litigation: whether the forces produced by an event are consistent with the injuries claimed. He reconstructs collisions, slip, trip, and fall incidents, workplace injuries, and product-related matters from physical evidence, quantifies occupant and pedestrian kinematics, and considers relevant human factors—including perception, response, and behavior—as part of his biomechanical and reconstruction analyses.

A biomechanical engineer since 2018, Joe has focused exclusively on forensic litigation support since 2019. Prior to this, he obtained his Master of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Biomechanics from California State University San Marcos, where he also taught movement anatomy and motor control. Before entering forensic practice, he conducted human movement research for Sony Electronics and later served as Director of Sport and Human Research at Black Lab Sports, directing human performance research funded by the U.S. Department of Defense.

Joe has consulted on hundreds of cases and has been retained by plaintiff and defense counsel in federal and state courts across multiple jurisdictions, including Colorado, Wyoming, California, and Ohio, and has provided deposition and court testimony. Today, he applies his extensive research and forensic experience as an Injury Biomechanics & Accident Reconstruction Expert with Evidence Solutions.
