Jonathan D. Gelber, MD, MS is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, fellowship-trained sports medicine specialist, and California Qualified Medical Evaluator. He maintains an active operative and nonoperative clinical practice and provides independent medical examinations, medical-record review, causation and apportionment analysis, permanent-impairment evaluation, future-medical-care assessment, standard-of-care review, and orthopedic expert consultation.
Dr. Gelber accepts both plaintiff and defense matters. His clinical expertise includes shoulder, knee, and hip conditions; sports-related injuries; degenerative joint disease; arthroscopic surgery; joint preservation; orthobiologics; and surgical decision-making.
He completed his sports medicine fellowship at Cleveland Clinic, orthopaedic surgery residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, and medical degree with distinction in research at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He also holds a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University and has authored numerous peer-reviewed orthopedic publications.
