Dr. Jacob Sharony
Dr. Jacob Sharony is a wireless expert witness (Wi-Fi / IEEE 802.11, 5G, LTE, Bluetooth / BLE, RFID / NFC / RTLS) and principal of Mobius Consulting, the d/b/a of Wireless Expert Consulting, Inc. He has been retained in nearly 60 wireless and mobile technology matters, including 37 PTAB IPRs plus an ex parte reexamination, 18 depositions, jury trial testimony in the Eastern District of Texas, ITC Section 337 hearing testimony (337-TA-1278), two UNCITRAL arbitration hearings, and a UK High Court cellular SEP report. He is engaged by petitioners and patent owners, plaintiffs and defendants, in roughly equal measure.
He has 35+ years in wireless, including senior roles at Motorola/Symbol, Powerwave, and the SUNY Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology, and earlier work at BAE Systems, NEC Research Institute, and IBM Research. He is a named inventor on 50+ U.S. patents, a Columbia University Ph.D. and adjunct professor of electrical engineering, and a Life Senior Member of IEEE.
