Introduction

Dr. Hetana Patel is a board-certified family medicine physician with a background spanning clinical practice, hospital medicine, correctional health, and public health. She currently serves as a Registry Physician with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation in Norco, California, where she provides comprehensive medical care for incarcerated patients, including diagnosis, treatment, minor procedures, urgent care, and clinical consultation. In addition, she works as a Physician Reviewer with Molina Care Connections, where she supervises advanced practice professionals, conducts chart reviews, and provides quality oversight for clinical documentation and care delivery.

From 2023 to 2025, Dr. Patel practiced with Redlands Yucaipa Medical Group, holding inpatient hospital privileges at Redlands Community Hospital, where she managed acute medical admissions, collaborated with specialty physicians, and coordinated safe discharges. She concurrently provided outpatient primary care through Dr. Pranav Mehta’s private practice, delivering evidence-based family medicine for adult and geriatric patients, women’s health services, minor office procedures, and preventive care. Earlier in her career, she gained experience at CityMD Urgent Care in New York, where she managed a broad range of acute presentations and assisted with in-office procedures.

Dr. Patel completed her residency in Family Medicine at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, California (2019–2022). During residency, she served as a member of the Graduate Medical Education Committee and contributed to research on colorectal cancer screening practices. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree in 2018 from St. George’s University School of Medicine, where she was active in the Global Scholars Medical Society. She also holds a Master of Public Health degree from San Francisco State University, a Pre-Medical Post-Baccalaureate certificate from Loyola Marymount University, and a Bachelor of Science in Health Science with a concentration in Services and Administration from San Jose State University.

Her earlier professional roles include positions in clinical coordination, contracts and business management, public health research, and community health with organizations such as Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, the Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum, and the Skull Base Institute. She has authored and co-authored publications on domestic violence, health disparities, and public health strategies.

Dr. Patel maintains board certification with the American Board of Family Medicine and is licensed to practice medicine in California. She holds ACLS certification and is fluent in evidence-based, patient-centered care that integrates her strong background in medicine, public health, and health systems leadership.
