Dr. Eric W. Sankey
Eric W. Sankey, MD, FAANS, is a board-certified neurosurgeon and fellowship-trained complex spine surgeon who maintains an active clinical practice in Athens, GA. He earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine before completing his neurosurgical residency and CAST-accredited Complex Spine Fellowship at Duke University.
As a Clinical Assistant Professor and practicing neurosurgeon, Dr. Sankey specializes in the surgical management of cranial and spinal tumors, cranial and spinal trauma, hydrocephalus, Chiari malformations, degenerative spine disease, peripheral nerve disorders, and minimally invasive spine surgery. He has authored more than 80 peer-reviewed publications and provides evidence-based, independent medical record review, standards of care analysis, causation assessment, expert witness services, and strategic consulting for attorneys and the medical device industry.
