Introduction

Charles M. Miller is a transportation and safety professional with more than 40 years of experience in commercial driving, logistics, DOT compliance, and vocational driver training. His background spans regional and specialized commercial vehicle operation, warehouse leadership in a union environment, and corporate safety instruction. He is an authorized Wisconsin Third‑Party CDL Examiner and has trained, evaluated, and tested hundreds of commercial drivers throughout his career.

Since 2023, Charles has served as an expert witness in commercial motor vehicle cases, providing analysis, written reports, and deposition testimony on matters involving CDL standards, driver qualification, FMCSA regulations, and commercial vehicle operation. He has supported both plaintiff and defense counsel, with multiple cases resolving favorably for the parties he advised.

Charles has taught CDL and logistics programs at technical colleges and workforce development centers, developing curriculum and leading ELDT‑compliant training in classroom, range, and road environments. His work also includes DOT compliance consulting, defensive driving instruction, and safety seminars for industry partners.

He holds a Wisconsin CDL (Class A, B, C & D with NPST endorsements), a Federal Medical Examiner’s Certificate, and multiple instructor certifications, including Defensive Driving Instructor, Forklift Train‑the‑Trainer, and MSSC CLA/CLT. Charles is a former President of the Greater Milwaukee Safety Council, a national AT&T CSA Challenge Champion, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Wisconsin Clean Cities.
