Introduction

Brian Berg has extensive experience with consumer electronics, including data storage devices and interfaces, e.g., Flash Memory, Solid State Disks (SSDs), Disk, Tape, Optical Storage (CD, CD-ROM, DVD, Blu-ray), WORM, RAID and Disk Arrays, as well as USB, SCSI, Fibre Channel, SATA/ATA/ATAPI and Storage Area Networks (SAN).

He has performed device tear-downs in order to study the operation of and components used in various products, and has worked with Kindle and Nook e-book readers. He has experience with Windows, UNIX, Linux, Android; C, C++, Java, assembly languages, BIOS and various embedded systems. He maintains a website covering storage topics, and has experience as a conference chair, session chair and speaker at over 80 conferences and industry events.

Brian is an active computer consultant in product development, and has provided computer litigation support in over 90 engagements involving patents, trade secrets, copyright infringement, source code analysis, object code disassembly, benchmarking, computer media duplication and file system analysis. He has been deposed over 20 times, and has testified at trial 8 times.
