Introduction

Dr. Ali Zandi is a dual-licensed Clinical Psychologist (PSY26391) and Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC49621) in California, with over a decade of clinical, supervisory, and leadership experience across outpatient, academic, and community-based mental health settings. He specializes in neuropsychological and psychological evaluations, and provides evidence-based therapy for individuals across the lifespan.

Dr. Zandi earned his Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University in 2012, graduating with distinction and receiving the Clinical Competency Award. He also holds both an M.A. (2007) and B.A. (2004) in Psychology from Chapman University. He is a Certified Autism Specialist, and an authorized clinical supervisor for Associate Marriage and Family Therapists, Social Workers, and Registered Psychological Associates.

Since 2021, Dr. Zandi has practiced at Seal Beach Counseling Inc., where he conducts comprehensive neuropsychological assessments and provides individual therapy. He has also maintained a long-standing clinical role at Alternative Options Counseling Center since 2013, serving a broad range of clients with Learning Disorders, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and mood and anxiety conditions.

From 2018 to 2023, Dr. Zandi served as Director of Behavioral Health at The Children’s Clinic (TCC Family Health), where he led integrated behavioral health services across 15 locations serving underserved populations. His leadership included program development, quality improvement, clinical supervision, and grant writing. Prior to this, he was Clinical Director at Alternative Options (2013–2018), where he oversaw IOP and PHP programs focused on mental health, substance use, and eating disorders.

He has also held academic roles, including his current position as Lecturer at Chapman University (since 2024), where he teaches MFT533 Psychopharmacology in the graduate Marriage and Family Therapy program.

Dr. Zandi’s therapeutic expertise includes CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, and psychodynamic therapy, and he is an active member of the APA,
INS, and CAMFT. His work bridges clinical precision, compassion, and systemic care to support mental health across communities.
