Trent is a Board Certified Entomologist (BCE #B3413), continuously certified since 2014, with an M.S. in Entomology and Nematology from the University of Florida completed in 2012, with over 21 years in the pest control industry. He holds a Utah commercial pesticide applicator license in the structural, wood-destroying organism, ornamental, and vertebrate categories, and has held licenses in Texas, Colorado, California, Wisconsin, and East Coast markets. He currently directs pest management programs in secure and regulated institutional environments, including a state inpatient psychiatric hospital and public school district facilities under state cooperative contract.
As Vice President of Operations and Senior Director of Quality Assurance at a national pest management company operating in more than thirty states, Trent authored the service protocols technicians followed, built the training and certification architecture behind them, and designed the quality assurance systems that verified whether the work was actually performed — grading roughly 74 operations centers serving more than 640,000 customers. When he reviews a pest management vendor's service history in litigation, he is reading a document type he spent two decades writing and auditing.
Matters accepted include bed bug liability in hotels, motels, and multifamily housing; rodent infestation, exclusion practice, and habitability; termite and wood-destroying organism inspection and disclosure disputes; pesticide misapplication, overapplication, and drift; pest control negligence and service-failure disputes; premises liability involving pest conditions; landlord-tenant and warranty of habitability claims; food contamination, adulteration, and stored product pests; structural and property damage from pest activity; and insect and arthropod identification.
Typical scope of work: early case assessment and merit screening, records and document analysis, photographic and documentary evidence review, site inspection, species identification, written opinions and expert reports, rebuttal of opposing expert opinions, deposition testimony, and trial testimony.
