Introduction

Thomas Lodge is a versatile and accomplished registered Architect with 30 years of broad professional experience in design, construction detailing, and construction administration for a multitude of project types. This provides a solid foundation for technical investigations, analysis, expert reports and testimony toward the resolution of commercial and personal injury litigation involving slip, trip, and fall injuries, code compliance, construction claims, project delivery methods, and professional liability.

Tom can explain the practical applications of established codes and standards in cases involving physical hazards in buildings and parking lots, including maintenance failures of stairs, balconies, walking surfaces, doorways, and ingress/egress. His diverse background and project experience includes facilities for athletics, education, laboratory/medical, military/security, performing arts, retail and display, supply and distribution, and sustainable building design, which enables him to appreciate large-scale topics while focusing on critical details and analyses.

Tom conducts casework for both plaintiff and defense counsel throughout the Southeast. Tom’s regional practice provides a local solution for clients across a broad geographical area. Tom is registered in numerous states throughout the Southeast and holds certification by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.

Tom is a certified user of the English XL slip tester, and he is a Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI). His educational background includes a Bachelors of Architecture from Syracuse University and MBA degree from the University of Hartford. His professional memberships include the American Institute of Architects, ASTM International, and the American Bar Association Forum on the Construction Industry.
