Dr. Theresa Bui is a board-certified psychiatrist with subspecialty certification in child and adolescent psychiatry. She is fluent in Vietnamese and has extensive experience in residential, outpatient, and telepsychiatry services.

Dr. Bui earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with a minor in Philosophy from the University of Saint Thomas in Houston, graduating in May 2006. She went on to complete her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, graduating in May 2011. She then pursued postgraduate training in psychiatry, completing her residency in General Adult Psychiatry at the University of Texas at Houston – Health Science Center from 2011 to 2014. Following residency, she advanced her specialization with a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, which she completed from 2014 to 2016.

Dr. Bui has held a number of clinical leadership roles. Since April 2014, she has served as Medical Director at Devereux Treatment Center in League City, Texas, where she provides psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, admitting privileges, and medication management in a residential setting. In June 2020, she joined Lifestance in Los Angeles, California, where she continues to provide outpatient psychiatric care. In August 2024, she expanded her practice to Paradigm Treatment in Malibu, California, where she holds residential treatment privileges.

Her previous positions include telepsychiatry services with JSA/SOC Telepsychiatry Health in Houston from 2015 to 2024, addiction treatment at Watershed Treatment Facility in Webster from 2015 to 2019, emergency psychiatric services at The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD from 2015 to 2018, and outpatient practice at Bay Pointe Behavioral in Friendswood from 2014 to 2015.

Dr. Bui is board-certified in Psychiatry (2015) and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (2017) by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is licensed to practice in Texas and California.
