Introduction

Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician in full-time active clinical practice. Fellowship trained by the Academy of Wilderness Medicine (FAWM) on subjects such as hypothermia, frostbite, heat stroke, altitude illness, animal attacks, and bites from poisonous animals. Currently a candidate for a Diploma in Dive & Marine Medicine (DiDMM) with a further focus on dive injuries such as decompression sickness a.k.a. “the bends.” Clinical experience includes trauma centers, academic institutions, community settings, freestanding EDs as well as rural hospitals. Experienced teacher. Co-inventor of a novel endotracheal device (RSI Prime, LLC; patent pending) that incorporates an adapted carbon dioxide detector with a modified bougie (an adjunct for difficult airways). Experienced expert witness at both deposition and trial.
