Introduction

Dr. Syed Omar Ali is a board-certified dermatologist with more than two decades of clinical, military, and academic experience in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. He is currently a dermatologist with the Skin and Beauty Center in West Hills, California, and previously served as CEO and practicing dermatologist at Acclaim Dermatology in Sugar Land, Texas (2016–2025), where he provided comprehensive dermatologic care and led a high-volume practice.

Dr. Ali earned his Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1995, followed by his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in 1999. He completed his pediatrics internship (1999–2000) and dermatology residency (2002–2005) at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium, where he trained extensively in medical and procedural dermatology.

From 2005 to 2012, Dr. Ali served as Chief of Dermatology Service at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Fort Gordon, Georgia, while also practicing as a teledermatologist for the U.S. Army Medical Corps. His military career included deployment as Chief of Phipps TMC-Balad in Iraq (2008) and earlier roles as Officer-in-Charge of Aviation Medicine at Fort Sam Houston (2000–2001) and Officer-in-Charge of TMC at Camp Edwards, Republic of Korea (2001–2002). Following his military service, he held locum dermatologist positions across Georgia, including with Georgia Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center, Newnan Dermatology, and Coastal Dermatology.

Dr. Ali has also contributed to industry innovation as Chief Medical Officer of Soivelle Skincare (2013–2018) and held faculty appointments as Clinical Assistant Professor in both Dermatology and Family Practice at the Medical College of Georgia (2006–2012). His academic contributions include multiple peer-reviewed publications and book chapters on dermatologic conditions, surgical techniques, and infectious diseases.

An active clinical researcher, Dr. Ali has served as Principal Investigator and Sub-Investigator on more than 40 Phase II–III dermatology clinical trials, spanning psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, acne, alopecia areata, actinic keratosis, and injectable therapies. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, former Vice President of the Association of Military Dermatologists, and a past member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the Houston Dermatology Society.

Dr. Ali is fluent in English and Spanish, enhancing his ability to serve diverse patient populations.
