Introduction

Dr. Shivi Sharma, MD, FACP is a board-certified hospitalist and Associate Director of the Yale New Haven Hospitalist Service, overseeing more than 100 physicians across two campuses. He has over a decade of experience working in hospital systems - both community and tertiary level academic centers, and able to speak with authority on the challenges and systems at those types of institutions.

He serves as Medical Director of a 31-bed telemetry unit, giving him deep insight into how physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff interact within complex hospital systems.
He also has an appointment as an Associate Professor in Clinical Medicine at Yale School of Medicine.

Dr. Sharma has led initiatives in rapid response systems, sepsis care, and point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) training; with expertise in hospital systems, workflow analysis, and standards of care. He continues to as a Full Time Clinician with over 40 hours of clinical, direct patient care per week.

He can provide clear, objective expert testimony on both individual physician care and the broader hospital processes that impact patient outcomes.
