Introduction

Sherry Richardson is a school administration expert with over three decades of professional experience in public education. She has served as a principal, assistant principal, teacher, and most recently as a district-level Director of Professional Standards & Employee Relations. As an expert at Robson Forensic, she applies her expertise to forensic casework involving instances of abuse, negligence, injuries, special education, title IX, and accepted standards of care within pre-K-12 educational settings.

Sherry earned her Master of School Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte after earning her B.S. in Elementary Education from Wingate University. She holds the K-12 Title IX Coordinator and Administrator Level One Certification, and she has received extensive training and certifications in workplace investigation, leadership, and school administration.

Sherry began her career as a classroom teacher working with K-6 grade students, including gifted and special education students and programs. She advanced into school leadership as an assistant principal before serving as a principal for nearly 20 years. Sherry also served as the district representative during Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, providing oversight of special education services, and ensuring compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) for students with disabilities.

Sherry advanced to a district-level position as the Director of Professional Standards & Employee Relations where she held oversight of more than 2,000 district employees, including teachers, paraprofessionals, school and district administrators, custodial and transportation personnel, sports coaches, extended day staff, and third party contracted substitute teachers. She served as principal advisor to executive leadership regarding personnel and student misconduct investigations, due process, expulsions, risk management, policy interpretation, and organizational accountability, while developing districtwide investigative procedures and administrator training.
