Dr. Sandeep Krishnan
New York, NY 10280
Office: 573-746-6142
Sandeep Krishnan, MD, MBA, FACC, FSCAI is a board-certified interventional and structural cardiologist with active medical licenses in New York, Utah, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Kentucky. He has reviewed cases and served as an expert for both plaintiff and defense counsel, with experience in medical malpractice, peer review, cardiology standard-of-care analysis, procedural complications, informed consent, causation, and damages assessment
Dr. Krishnan is board certified in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Diseases, Internal Medicine, Cardiac CT, Nuclear Cardiology, Echocardiography, and Vascular Ultrasound Interpretation. His clinical expertise includes complex coronary intervention, structural heart disease, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, mitral valve repair, heart failure, cardiac imaging, procedural risk assessment, and management of cardiovascular complications
Dr. Krishnan remains in active clinical practice as an interventional and structural cardiologist. He has held major clinical leadership roles, including Director of Structural Heart and Heart Failure Programs at King’s Daughters Health System, where he led nationally accredited heart failure and transcatheter valve programs. He has also served in interventional cardiology roles with WellSpan Health, Lake Regional Health System, and the Veterans Affairs Health System. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Krishnan is a Physician Specialist in the Healthcare Practice at McKinsey & Company
Dr. Krishnan has substantial national leadership experience in cardiovascular medicine and medical liability. He serves on the American College of Cardiology Board of Trustees Working Group on Medical Professional Liability Insurance and has published on cardiology malpractice, including “Medical Malpractice Claims Within Cardiology from 2006 to 2015” in the American Journal of Cardiology. His background also includes national committee service with the American College of Cardiology, Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, and American Medical Association
Dr. Krishnan approaches each legal review using a structured, evidence-based framework designed to provide counsel with a clear and objective assessment of the medical issues. His reviews commonly address
1. Whether the procedure, test, treatment, or clinical decision was medically indicated
2. Whether the patient was appropriately informed of material risks, benefits, and alternatives, and whether consent was adequately documented
3. Whether the physician, provider, institution, or care team met the applicable standard of care
4. Whether any complication was recognized in a timely manner and managed appropriately
5. Whether the alleged breach caused the claimed injury, outcome, or damages
6. Whether alternative explanations, comorbidities, or patient-specific risk factors affect causation
Dr. Krishnan’s medicolegal opinions are grounded in active clinical practice, national guideline familiarity, procedural experience, peer-reviewed literature, and practical understanding of how cardiology care is delivered in real-world hospital settings. He is available for case screening, written reports, deposition testimony, and trial testimony in matters involving interventional cardiology, structural heart disease, heart failure, general cardiology, peri-procedural complications, informed consent, and cardiovascular causation
