A subject matter expert in police practices and procedures since 2019. I have been served as an expert in police practices and procedures since 2015, and consulted on cases regarding use of force, deadly force, policies and procedures, police tactics, and training. I have been retained in civil and criminal cases for state courts in Florida and Oklahoma.
I have over 32 years of law enforcement and corrections experience for an accredited agency with over 1700 sworn deputy sheriffs and 1000 Corrections Deputies. I held the titles of deputy sheriff, trainer, field training officer, detective, sergeant, lieutenant, captain, major, and lieutenant colonel, and spent over 13 years in supervision in the Division of Law Enforcement Operations, Training Division, Special Operations, and Professional Standards Committee.
As an executive commander, I handled reviews of police misconduct allegations. This included examining cases related to use of force, breaches of policy or procedures, police pursuits, officer-involved shootings, training matters, and vehicle accidents. I also served as a board member of the Broward Sheriff’s Professional Standards Committee as a Training/Law Enforcement Operations SME for recommending discipline and arbitration.
Graduate of the FBI National Academy, Northwestern Executive Management Program, master's degree in criminal justice administration, Force Science certified in Use of Force, Force Science in Body Worn Camera, FDLE/CJSTC Training Director certified, former instructor certifications in firearms, Taser, CPR, Verbal Defense and Influence, and Use of Force.
