Introduction

Dr. Ramail Siddiqui is a board-certified psychiatrist with advanced fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry. He currently serves as a Staff Psychiatrist at West County Detention Facility, where he manages psychiatric illness in an adult correctional population. In addition, he provides per diem psychiatric care across multiple clinical settings, including Contra Costa Behavioral Health’s Youth Stabilization Unit, John George Psychiatric Hospital, and Santa Rosa Behavioral Healthcare Hospital. In these roles, he treats both voluntary and involuntary patients in inpatient and crisis stabilization settings, spanning child, adolescent, and adult populations.

Dr. Siddiqui earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College in 2020, following a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Global Health from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2016. He completed his residency in General Psychiatry at Oregon Health & Science University (2020–2023), where he gained broad clinical experience in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency psychiatry. In 2025, he completed fellowship training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco, developing specialized expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric disorders in younger populations with a particular focus on trauma-based disorders and neurodevelopmental differences.

His prior clinical experience also includes providing psychiatric coverage for Kaiser Permanente Sunnyside Medical Center in Clackamas, Oregon, where he worked with patients at Brookside Center, a residential mental health treatment facility, and consulted on psychiatric care for the medical center and emergency department.

Dr. Siddiqui’s research contributions focus on cardiac fibroblast proliferation and pharmacological interventions, with multiple co-authored publications in leading journals, including the International Journal of Cardiology, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, and the American Journal of Physiology: Cell Physiology. His work has explored mechanisms of simvastatin in modulating fibroblast proliferation and responsiveness, contributing to translational insights in cardiovascular science.

Fluent in English and proficient in Urdu and Pashto, Dr. Siddiqui brings strong cultural and linguistic skills to his practice, enhancing his ability to work with diverse populations. With his combined expertise in adult and child psychiatry, correctional health, and inpatient care, he is dedicated to advancing mental health treatment across a broad range of clinical environments.
