
Dr. Porsha Dodson, PsyD

Dr. Porsha Dodson is a licensed clinical psychologist with over a decade of experience in forensic, correctional, and youth mental health services. She earned her Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Forensic Psychology from Alliant International University’s California School of Forensic Studies in June 2015, following her M.A. in the same field in October 2013. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Hampton University in May 2006.
Since June 2024, Dr. Dodson has served as a Contracted Clinical Psychologist with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), where she conducts clinical interviews, suicide risk assessments, and collaborates with psychiatry and custody staff in the Reception Center clinical unit.
She is also the owner and primary psychologist at Dodson Psychological Services (established June 2020), a private practice where she treats individuals, couples, and adolescents, supervises a psychological assistant, and manages clinical operations.
From September 2019 to June 2024, Dr. Dodson worked as a Clinical Psychologist II with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, within the Child Welfare Continuum of Care Reform Division. Her role focused on oversight of Short Term Residential Therapeutic Placements for foster youth, including agency evaluations, training delivery, and fidelity monitoring of the Integrated Core Practice Model.
Between February 2016 and August 2021, she provided sex offender treatment at Spero Psychological Services as a CASOMB Independent Practitioner, offering group and individual therapy, evaluations, and supervision of pre-doctoral interns.
Dr. Dodson previously served as a Clinical Psychologist II with the Orange County Health Care Agency (2014–2019), initially joining as a pre-doctoral intern. There, she worked with detained youth at Juvenile Hall, providing therapy, assessments, and psychological testing.
Her earlier roles include Child Care Counselor at Hillsides Home for Children (2012–2014) and Detention Services Officer with Los Angeles County Probation (2007–2011). She also taught introductory psychology courses as Adjunct Faculty II at DeVry University from 2015 to 2017.
