Introduction

Peter Ford, P.E., is a licensed electrical engineer with a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana State University. Peter applies his expertise to forensic casework involving electrical shock injuries, electrocutions, electrical fires, power loss related damages, safe work practices, lighting, and other disputes that involve electrical products and systems.

Peter spent much of his career working as an electrical design consultant for utilities, architecture firms, civil engineering firms, and state/local entities. He is well versed in power substations, new building construction and renovations, municipal water and sewage systems, back-up power systems, fire alarm systems, access control systems, and lighting systems.

He has served as a project manager and was responsible for on-site auditing and approval of completed work, verifying that contractors’ work followed the design intent, complied with the design specifications, met quality standards, and complied with National Electrical Code NFPA 70 and state / local regulations.

Peter’s experience with backup power systems makes him extremely qualified to investigate and determine what caused an unexpected loss of power and whether reasonable measures were in place to mitigate the damage caused by an unexpected power loss.
