My speaking experience includes training families, legal professionals, and multidisciplinary teams on topics such as addiction dynamics, psychiatric presentation, risk assessment, and intervention strategy. I have also presented on diversion frameworks, behavioral health policy, and real-world application of mental health law, including CARE Court and civil commitment processes. Work frequently involves analysis of impaired judgment, impulsivity, and executive dysfunction as they relate to criminal and civil proceedings, as well as consultation on CARE Court, mental health policy, and behavioral health system navigation.

- A: Approximately 20–30%. I am retained by plaintiffs in a minority of cases where my expertise in behavioral health, substance use disorders, and psychiatric presentation is relevant. As with all engagements, my opinions are independent and based solely on the facts and objective analysis.

Services include behavioral risk assessment, capacity and fitness to stand trial analysis, mitigation support, and evaluation of impaired decision making. I provide written reports, affidavits, and rebuttal analysis, as well as deposition and trial testimony. Additional services include case strategy consultation, record review, treatment and intervention planning, crisis management, and guidance on involuntary admission, guardianship, diversion programs, and matters arising under the Illinois Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Code.

A per diem of $100 per day applies for meals and incidental expenses. Additional costs may include record procurement, document reproduction, and other third-party expenses as necessary. All expenses are disclosed in advance and billed at cost or at agreed-upon rates.
