Nizar Souayah
Nizar Souayah, MD, FAAN, FANA, FAANEM is an internationally recognized neuromuscular neurologist, researcher, and academic leader. He is President and Founding Director of the Premier Clinical and Research Neuromuscular Institute (PCRNI), advancing care and research for complex neuromuscular disorders.
Dr. Souayah completed his medical education in Tunisia and France before advancing his training in the United States. He completed his neurology residency at Temple University Hospital, followed by fellowship training in neuromuscular medicine at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital and in electrodiagnostic medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine. He also pursued advanced clinical research training at the University of Pennsylvania. He is triple board certified in Neurology, Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and Neuromuscular Medicine.
With more than two decades on the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School faculty, Dr. Souayah directed multiple neuromuscular programs and founded Centers of Excellence for GBS/CIDP and COVID‑19 Neurology. His academic contributions include peer‑reviewed publications, national and international presentations, editorial board service, and leadership on national grant review panels.
