Dr. Nisha Manila is an oral and maxillofacial radiologist, dental educator, and researcher with a strong academic and clinical background in diagnostic imaging and artificial intelligence in healthcare.
Dr. Manila earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, followed by a Ph.D. in Dental Science with a focus on Oral Radiation Oncology from Tokyo Medical and Dental University, where she also completed an Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology externship and Graduate Research Diploma. She then pursued a postgraduate residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology at Texas A&M University School of Dentistry. Committed to advancing healthcare innovation, Dr. Manila earned a Certification in Artificial Intelligence from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and an M.S. in Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare from the University of Alcalá. She currently serves as an Associate Professor and Director of Radiology at California Northstate University College of Dental Medicine. She is also an Adjunct Professor at Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technological Sciences and Manipal Academy of Higher Education, India.
Dr. Manila is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and an active member of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, ITU/WHO Focus Group on AI for Health, and multiple international radiology and dental research societies. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and is a frequently invited speaker at international and national conferences. Dr.Manila’s research interests include dental image annotation standards, ethical AI in healthcare, and improving diagnostic accuracy through deep learning techniques.
