Max Valerio is a licensed Professional Engineer with over 36 years of experience in Roadway and Highway Design and Transportation Engineering. He specializes in Traffic Engineering, Traffic Control Compliance, and Federal Highway Safety Regulations. Max brings extensive experience in highway and construction administration, including Pre-construction development, Technical Specifications, Cost Estimates, Traffic Control Planning, Traffic Engineering, Contract Development and Negotiations, Construction Contract Administration, and Program and Project Management.

As a Civil Engineer, Max served as the Chief Engineer for the New Mexico Department of Transportation. As Chief Engineer, he directed the department’s statewide design and engineering program and staff. In this role, Max developed Design Policy & Guidance and produced an annual multi-million-dollar Design and Construction program. Max served as the agency’s representative on Contractor Claims & Disputes, Right of Way Condemnation cases, and Tort Claim litigation, serving as an expert witness.

Today, Max provides forensic analysis of roadway and highway design, and traffic engineering and compliance issues arising from motor vehicle crashes, including accidents occurring within construction zones.
