Dr. Max Lebow
Chino Hills, CA 91709
I am a board-certified physician in both Emergency Medicine and Preventive/Occupational Medicine with more than 40 years of clinical, administrative, and medical-legal experience. My practice focuses on the evaluation of acute injury, occupational disease, cumulative trauma conditions, and the determination of work-related disability and functional capacity in complex clinical and industrial settings.
I earned my medical degree from West Virginia University and a Master of Public Health from the Medical College of Wisconsin. I am a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, reflecting my long-standing commitment to both acute care and occupational health medicine.
Throughout my career, I have held senior leadership roles in emergency and occupational medicine, including serving as President of the Urgent Care Association of America, Medical Director of Emergency Departments, and Director of Medical Quality for Medicine for Business and Industry. I have also served as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the UCLA School of Nursing. These roles have provided extensive experience in clinical oversight, quality assurance, and system-level evaluation of medical care delivery.
My clinical expertise includes emergency trauma care, occupational injuries, cumulative trauma disorders, return-to-work evaluation, and Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certifications. This breadth of experience allows me to assess both acute and chronic conditions in the context of functional capacity, workplace demands, and long-term prognosis.
As a Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME) and Agreed Medical Evaluator (AME), I provide objective medical-legal evaluations in workers’ compensation and occupational injury cases. I am frequently retained to address issues involving causation, apportionment, maximal medical improvement (MMI), disability, and standard of care. My opinions are grounded in decades of frontline clinical practice and healthcare leadership, resulting in clear, evidence-based, and defensible reports that assist attorneys, employers, and insurers in resolving complex medical-legal disputes.
