Dr. Max Abrahms supplies expert testimony in federal terrorism litigation for the world's top law firms. He is a tenured professor of political science at Northeastern University and Senior Fellow in Counterterrorism at the American Foreign Policy Council, where he specializes in terrorism and counterterrorism. Worldwide, he is ranked #1 in Terrorism Studies, #1 in Counterinsurgency, #1 in Conflict Resolution, #3 in Jewish Studies, #4 in Insurgency, #4 in Counterterrorism, and #7 in Extremism in terms of Google Scholar citations. Abrahms has published on terrorism in all of the top-ranked peer-reviewed journals in the field of International Relations and has three books on the topic, two with Oxford and one with Routledge. Abrahms regularly appears in the media (e.g., Atlantic, BBC, CNN, FOX, New York Times, Newsweek, SKY) to analyze terrorism and counterterrorism, consults for the CIA about the international extremism landscape, and serves as a red team, white team, and blue team terrorism expert for multinational corporations such as Amazon. Abrahms is a frequent speaker at high-level international security fora such as the annual Munich Security Conference, Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi, as well as the National Conservatism Conference (NatCon). At Northeastern, Abrahms helped to stand up the Masters program in Security and Resilience Studies where he teaches courses on terrorism and counterterrorism.
