Mr. Mark Axelrod, AIC, AIS, AINS
Office: 817-907-8158
Mark Axelrod is a Property & Casualty (P&C) claims expert witness and former Senior Claims Director with more than 30 years of experience evaluating claims handling, coverage determinations, regulatory compliance, and insurer conduct against accepted industry customs, practices, standards of care, and good faith claims handling requirements. He assists counsel in identifying, analyzing, and explaining claim file activity, claims decisions, and claims handling practices in the context of accepted industry standards and real-world claims operations.
His experience spans first-party and third-party matters across Personal and Commercial Auto, Homeowners (including HO-3, HO-4, HO-6, and HO-7), Lender-Placed Insurance (LPI), and Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI). He has also overseen key operational functions including Special Investigations Unit (SIU), Subrogation, Vendor Management, and Catastrophe Claims Operations within large national claims organizations.
A significant differentiator is Mark's recent executive claims leadership experience. Having served as a Senior Claims Director through 2025, he brings current, real-world knowledge of today's claims environment, including operational challenges, technology adoption, vendor management, catastrophe response, compliance expectations, staffing considerations, documentation practices, and evolving industry standards. This perspective allows him to evaluate claims handling through the lens of both accepted industry practices and the realities facing modern claims organizations.
Mark has served numerous times as a Corporate Deponent regarding claims handling practices, claims operations, regulatory compliance, and good faith claim handling. He is experienced in explaining complex claims processes, operational decisions, claim file documentation, and industry standards in a clear, practical, and understandable manner.
He maintains an active Florida 0620 All-Lines Adjuster License and completes required continuing education to remain current on regulatory developments, claims handling requirements, and emerging industry trends.
Drawing on more than three decades of hands-on claims experience, including service as a Senior Claims Director, Corporate Deponent, and owner/operator of a Property & Casualty Third-Party Administrator specializing in liability defense and subrogation recovery, Mark provides practical, experience-based opinions grounded in accepted industry standards and real-world claims operations.
