Dr. Lisa Morgan, M.D.

Dr. Lisa Morgan is an American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology–certified psychiatrist and U.S. Navy physician with extensive experience providing evidence-based psychiatric care in outpatient, inpatient, and operational military settings. Her clinical practice emphasizes accurate diagnosis, medication management, treatment planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration to support patient safety, readiness, and long-term mental health outcomes.
Since July 2022, Dr. Morgan has served as an Outpatient Psychiatrist at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton. In this role, she provides comprehensive psychiatric care utilizing psychopharmacology and psychotherapy, manages psychiatry referrals, and evaluates disability determinations, limited duty recommendations, and medical separation cases as Convening Authority. She previously served as Chair and is now a committee member of the Impaired Healthcare Provider Program (IHPP), overseeing the management of healthcare providers with conditions affecting patient care or quality of life. She has also mentored more than 30 family medicine residents during their psychiatry rotations.
From June 2021 to July 2022, Dr. Morgan worked as an Inpatient Psychiatrist at Naval Medical Center San Diego, where she provided crisis intervention and acute psychiatric care for a 24-bed inpatient unit. She previously served in multiple leadership and operational roles within the U.S. Navy, including Division Officer at Naval Base San Diego Mental Health Clinic and psychiatrist for Naval Special Warfare commands in Coronado, California. Earlier assignments included outpatient psychiatric care for sailors attached to Fleet Surgical Team–9 and leadership roles supporting operational readiness through limited duty and liaison oversight functions.
Dr. Morgan completed her Psychiatry Residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego in 2019, where she also served as Chief Resident of the Psychiatric Transition Program, leading multidisciplinary teams caring for patients with severe mental illness. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in 2015 and a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience from Vanderbilt University in 2011. Dr. Morgan has authored peer-reviewed publications, presented at national scientific meetings, and has received multiple military honors, including the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and Achievement Medal.
