Dr. Lindsay Coyle is a licensed psychologist with extensive experience in forensic, clinical, and correctional mental health settings. Since 2012, she has operated LJC Psychological Services Group in San Luis Obispo, CA, where she provides diagnostic psychological evaluations, forensic assessments, therapy, forensic consulting, and expert testimony for diverse adult and juvenile populations. Her practice integrates comprehensive assessment with evidence-informed clinical intervention across legal, correctional, and community contexts.
From 2009 to 2017, Dr. Coyle served as a Forensic/Clinical Psychologist at Atascadero State Hospital, working with high-risk and forensic populations. She conducted psychological assessments, treatment planning, therapy, and interdisciplinary consultation within a secure hospital setting. Between 2014 and 2016, she also worked as a Forensic Psychologist and Consultant at Salinas Valley State Prison, where she conducted forensic evaluations, provided expert testimony, developed programming, delivered peer education, and offered clinical consultation to correctional staff.
Dr. Coyle’s earlier professional development includes a Post-doctoral Fellowship (2008–2009) and a Pre-doctoral Internship (2007–2008) at the Colorado Institute of Forensic Psychiatry, where she completed rotations in neuropsychological assessment, dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive rehabilitation, general assessment, and behavioral treatment programs serving chronically mentally ill adults. Additional trainee roles at the Gary Cannon Psychological Services Center (2006–2007) and Synchrony of Visalia (2006–2006) provided experience in sex-offender treatment, court-mandated evaluations, early childhood assessment, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Dr. Coyle earned her PhD in Forensic Psychology from the Center for Forensic Studies (2004–2008), following a Master’s in Forensic Psychology (2004–2006) and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (2000–2004), all from Alliant International University. She also completed a Teacher’s Assistantship at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (2003–2004) and is enrolled in a Sports Psychology program (ABSP, 2025).
