Introduction

Lydia Carolina Alfonso is a Registered Architect with 25 years of experience in architectural design and construction. She holds a B.A. in Architecture from Florida Atlantic University, a B.A. in Architectural Design from Florida International University, and an M.S. in Construction Management from Florida International University. As an expert at Robson Forensic, Carolina applies her expertise to investigations involving premises liability disputes and construction claims.

Through the course of her career, Carolina has been in every seat of the table in the architecture and construction industry. She worked for and as an architect and sub-consultant, for a general contractor, a sub-contractor, and an owner’s representative for Miami-Dade County for more than two decades. Her project experience ranges from multi-million dollar commercial and residential projects in the public and private sector, to theaters, institutional properties, multi-family residential, single-family homes, hi-rises, retail, commercial, and public art installations. Carolina is well qualified to evaluate small- and large-scale projects, as well as the finer details and individual design and construction elements that contribute to safety within the built environment.

Carolina is certified by the National Council of Registration Boards (NCARB), registered in multiple states. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and Women in Architecture (WIA). Carolina is also an Accredited Professional on Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design in Building Design and Construction (LEED AP BD+C).
