I am a physician anesthesiologist who has practiced across the country. I live in Wisconsin and continue to practice on a contract basis, but I'm also established in a permanent position locally. I'm board certified in Anesthesiology and Internal Medicine. I'm also a law student at Mitchell Hamline School of Law in St. Paul, MN.
My background enables me to assess whether anesthesia care conforms to a reasonable standard of care regardless of context. I have personal experience practicing in resource-poor and rich environments. I've worked in academic, private, urban, rural, high-acuity inpatient, and outpatient environments. I've done my own cases as well as worked with CRNAs and AAs in medical direction, supervision, and independent CRNA models.
Although I'm early in my legal career, I'm able to review charts and assess anesthesia care with a better understanding of underlying legal concepts than many providers who have never attended law school.
