I am a triple board-certified physician in Pain Medicine, Anesthesiology, and Addiction Medicine, with additional certification in Headache Medicine. My practice focuses on the evaluation and treatment of complex pain conditions, interventional pain management, opioid-related disorders, and the medical issues that arise at the intersection of chronic pain, addiction, and functional impairment.

I earned my medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences and subsequently completed a Ph.D. at Baylor College of Medicine. I went on to complete my anesthesiology residency at Baylor and an Interventional Pain Management fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic, where I received advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of complex pain disorders and spine-related conditions.

Throughout my career, I have held both academic and clinical leadership positions, including serving as an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and as clinical faculty at California Health Sciences University. My multidisciplinary background allows me to evaluate challenging cases involving chronic pain syndromes, interventional pain treatments, perioperative management, headache disorders, opioid therapy, substance use disorders, and the long-term functional effects of injury and illness.

As a California Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME), I provide comprehensive medical-legal evaluations in workers’ compensation and personal injury matters. I am frequently retained in cases involving causation, apportionment, treatment necessity, disability, impairment, medication management, and questions regarding the standard of care. My opinions are grounded in active clinical practice, extensive academic experience, and a substantial body of peer-reviewed research, allowing me to deliver objective, evidence-based reports that assist attorneys, insurers, and triers of fact in resolving complex medical issues.
