Introduction

Dr. Jeffrey Forris Beecham Chick is a Professor of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (IR; VIR) and the Division Chief of Interventional Radiology.

He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Harvard University (Brigham and Women's Hospital) and his fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania (Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania). He is board-certified in both Diagnostic Radiology and Interventional Radiology.

Dr. Chick has previously held key leadership roles at top academic medical centers. He served as Vice Quality Assurance and Safety Officer, Associate Chief of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, Program Director of the Interventional Radiology Residency, Director of Research, and Director of Venous Interventions. In addition to his clinical and administrative leadership, Dr. Chick is an investigator on numerous clinical trials, holds leadership roles in national medical societies, and serves as an advisor to several biomedical companies.

Widely recognized as a national and international expert, Dr. Chick's clinical expertise includes venous thromboembolic (VTE) disease, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), superior vena cava (SVC) syndrome, venous occlusive disease, pulmonary embolism (PE), endovascular thrombectomy, venous recanalization and stent reconstruction, complex inferior vena cava filter removal, lymphatic imaging and interventions, and interventional radiology-operated endoscopy. He is also a leading voice in operational efficiency, resource utilization, and process improvement within interventional radiology, as well as in the areas of social media in medicine, physician burnout, moral injury, wellness, professional fulfillment, and medical malpractice. Dr. Chick has presented at more than 200 national and international conferences and has authored over 250 peer-reviewed articles.
