Introduction

Dr. Jason Koob is a board-certified emergency physician and emergency medicine expert witness. In full-time community emergency department practice since 2014, he has treated more than 20,000 patients across the complete range of emergency presentations. Before medicine, Dr. Koob worked as a litigation consultant at Cornerstone Research supporting expert witnesses and attorneys — giving him an uncommon fluency in both the practice of emergency medicine and the demands of litigation. He earned his MD at the University of Chicago and completed his emergency medicine residency at Northwestern. Dr. Koob provides independent case review and written opinions for both plaintiff and defense counsel, with particular focus on missed and delayed diagnosis (MI, stroke, sepsis, aortic dissection, pulmonary embolism), EMTALA and transfer issues, airway management, and trauma care. He is licensed in California and reviews cases nationwide.
