Introduction

Dr. Farah Hamandi is a biomedical engineer with specific expertise in biomechanics and biomaterials. Dr. Hamandi earned her Ph.D. in Engineering from Wright State University, specializing in Medical and Biological Systems. She holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering from Al-Nahrain University in Baghdad. As an expert at Robson Forensic, Dr. Hamandi applies her expertise to forensic casework involving traumatic injuries due to motor vehicle crashes, workplace and sports injuries, premises liability disputes, and litigation involving medical implants and devices.

Dr. Hamandi’s work centers on the biomechanics of human motion as well as laboratory testing and evaluation of joint prostheses with consideration for FDA, ASTM, and ISO regulatory guidelines. She has been conducting research in biomechanics and biomaterials for more than 15 years, focusing on orthopedic devices, failure assessment studies, computer modeling and clinical imaging.

Dr. Hamandi is a member of the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES), Biomedical Research & Technology Association (BMRTA), Orthopaedic Research Society (ORS), American Society of Biomechanics (ABS), and sits on the ASTM Committee F04 on Medical and Surgical Materials and Devices.
