Introduction

Mr. Lewis has more than 40 years of tax and business valuation experience with a strong focus on the valuation of closely held corporations and IRS taw law defense. He has been a principal in Lewis & Associates Tax Planning, Inc. (LATP) since 2008. LATP is a boutique tax practice which provides tax planning, IRS debt resolution, IRS audit representation, tax defense and tax compliance for businesses and individuals.

Prior to entering private practice Mr. Lewis worked in corporate, public accounting and legal environments for 30 years. He has held such positions as Vice President of Finance, Controller, Accounting Manager, Director of Tax, Tax Manager and Tax Writer/Researcher.

Mr. Lewis also has more than 25 years of teaching experience as an Adjunct Professor at Chicago area colleges and universities. He currently teaches finance, tax and accounting at Aurora University in Aurora, Illinois. He has previously taught at DePaul University and University of Phoenix (on-ground) both in the Chicago, Illinois area.

Mr. Lewis has expertise in:
* asset valuations for divorce cases, closely held stock valuations, partnership and Sub Chapter S Corporation property distributions.
* U.S. Tax Court defense against IRS taxation of personal injury settlements, basis in partnership distributions, charitable donations and donor advised funds.
* accounting internal controls and fraud.

Mr. Lewis holds an MBA in Finance from Dominican University and completed accounting courses toward an MSA (Accounting ) at Roosevelt University.
Mr. Lewis is licensed as an Enrolled Agent Admitted to Practice Before the IRS.
