
Dominic R. Tomburrini, DO, FACEP
Dr. Dominic R. Tomburrini, is currently a board-certified emergency physician with 19 years of frontline clinical experience across urban, suburban, and rural emergency departments. A Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (FACEP), Dr. Tomburrini brings a deep and practical understanding of emergency medicine, clinical decision-making, and systems-based care delivery.
Prior to attending medical school, Dr. Tomburrini gained diverse experience across multiple healthcare sectors. He worked in the pharmaceutical industry as a Drug Safety Specialist, in clinic cardiology as an Exercise Physiologist, and held hands-on roles as an EMT Emergency Room Technician at a Level I Trauma Center. In addition, he served as a Firefighter-EMT, further strengthening his foundation in prehospital and emergency care.
As an ER physician, he has served in multiple leadership and administrative roles, including as an Executive Council and Board Member of Madison Emergency Physicians, SC, and as a long-standing participant in both hospital and group-level Patient Review Committees (PRC). Dr. Tomburrini has also acted as a physician liaison to a regional EMS-Hospital and ALS Consortium, where he focused on prehospital care coordination, protocol development, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Dr. Tomburrini offers objective, evidence-based medical-legal consultation and expert witness services in emergency medicine, including detailed case reviews, written reports, deposition, and courtroom testimony. His areas of special interest include EMS-related care, wilderness and remote medicine, and emergency department systems and standards of care.
