Dr. Diana Turner is a California and Texas licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience in psychological assessment, California POST evaluations, and therapeutic interventions. She currently serves as an Occupational Psychologist II with the City of Los Angeles Personnel Department, Medical Services Division, a role she has held since 2021. In this capacity, she provides comprehensive psychological assessment services for city employees, including screening candidates for safety-sensitive positions such as police officers and firefighters. Her work includes conducting clinical interviews, evaluating psychological, mental, and emotional functioning, and preparing detailed reports to ensure candidates meet the rigorous standards required for public safety roles.
From 2016 to 2021, Dr. Turner served as a Clinical Psychologist with the County of Los Angeles Department of Mental Health at the West Central Family Mental Health Center. She conducted diagnostic evaluations, administered psychological assessments, and provided both individual and group therapy to clients with psychiatric and co-occurring disorders. She also participated in crisis response as part of the Psychiatric Mobile Response Team (PMRT), conducting emergency evaluations in homes and hospitals throughout Los Angeles County.
Earlier in her career, Dr. Turner was a Research Analyst II with the County of Los Angeles Department of Mental Health’s Chief Information Office Bureau from 2014 to 2016. In this role, she collaborated with the Child Welfare Division and the Department of Children and Family Services to identify and monitor mental health services for shared clients.
Dr. Turner earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Psychology from Howard University in 2013, following a Master of Arts in Educational Psychology from Howard University in 2008 and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, Dominguez Hills, in 2004. She is a certified California POST Psychological Evaluator and Substance Abuse Professional, with advanced expertise in cognitive behavioral therapy, psychological testing, and program evaluation.
