Introduction

Derek Gilboe has over thirty (30) years of international experience in the oil & gas, manufacturing, and consulting sectors. Educated as a metallurgical engineer, which included mechanical and chemical engineering, enabled breadth and depth of experience in multiple specializations that were further expanded through graduate business education (MBA) that included a focus on corporate governance and modeling of organizations. Mr. Gilboe is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE/PEng) in the USA (Texas, California, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Illinois) and Canada (Alberta), in addition to being an Irish Chartered Engineer (CEng), European Engineer (Eur Ing), and International PE (Int PE). Work experience over his thirty years in industry includes supermajors, integrated operators, midstream operators, service companies, and manufacturers. He brings extensive oil & gas knowledge in upstream (wellheads, gathering, and corrosion), midstream/pipelines (transmission, storage, and terminals), and downstream (gas processing, refining, chemicals, gas distribution, and terminals) through hands-on experience in all phases of the life of these assets. He has held roles that include individual contributor, team leader, and senior executive leadership in multiple organizations. Mr. Gilboe has also worked in onshore and offshore locations with environmental conditions ranging from arctic to deep desert.
