Introduction

Dan B. Tran, MD is an internal medicine physician in Orange County, California where he practices as an adult primary care physician.

Dr. Tran completed his residency training in internal medicine at UC Irvine Health in 2025. Dr. Tran earned his medical degree from Florida International University’s Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in 2022, graduating in the top quartile of his class and being inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. During medical school, he was awarded the Distinguished Student Scholar Award in recognition of his academic excellence and commitment to professionalism and service. He previously completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles, graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology in 2018. At UCLA, he consistently earned Dean’s List honors and was actively engaged in community health initiatives.

In addition to his clinical training, Dr. Tran has conducted extensive research across multiple disciplines, including cardiology, oncology, geriatrics, endocrinology, and palliative care. His projects have examined topics such as leadless pacemaker implantation following transcatheter aortic valve replacement, early palliative care interventions in hematologic malignancies, social isolation and disability in older adults, and diabetes management in Hispanic populations. He has authored or co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in journals including Cureus, Clinical Lymphoma, Myeloma, and Leukemia, and StatPearls, and has presented his work at national conferences such as the American Heart Association Scientific Sessions and the American College of Cardiology Annual Scientific Session.

Beyond research, Dr. Tran has served in leadership and editorial roles, including Editor-in-Chief of the Florida Medical Student Research Journal, team leader for the American College of Physicians Florida Chapter, and member of the American College of Cardiology National Medical Student Leadership Council. His leadership experience spans mentorship, curriculum development, health policy outreach, and community service initiatives.

Fluent in English and Vietnamese, Dr. Tran’s professional interests include general internal medicine, primary care, cardiovascular health, geriatrics, endocrinology, and preventive medicine.
