Dr. Craig M. Burrows is a board-certified pulmonary, critical care, and internal medicine physician with over 25 years of clinical, administrative, and academic experience across hospital medicine, intensive care, and outpatient pulmonary medicine. He currently serves as a Hospitalist at Mammoth Hospital in Mammoth Lakes, California, and an Intensivist at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center in Carson City, Nevada.

From 2015 to 2023, Dr. Burrows served as Chief Medical Officer at Mammoth Hospital, where he led physician recruitment, peer review, interdisciplinary quality initiatives, and the successful system-wide implementation of Cerner EMR. As CMO, he chaired multiple committees, including antibiotic stewardship, accountable care, and quality improvement, and acted as Physician Advisor for utilization and peer review processes. He also guided the hospital and surrounding community through the COVID-19 pandemic, serving as the primary medical lead for clinical and operational response efforts

Earlier in his career, Dr. Burrows maintained a thriving pulmonary and critical care practice at Escondido Pulmonary Medical Group, where he also directed the Intensive Care Unit at Pomerado Hospital and the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at Palomar Medical Center. His leadership extended to multiple medical staff committees, including Quality Management, Peer Review, and Utilization Review, where he contributed to clinical governance and standards of care.

Dr. Burrows earned his M.D. from the State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse, where he graduated Cum Laude and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Deaconess Hospital in Boston and his Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at the University of California, San Diego Medical Center.

He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine, and serves as an Expert Reviewer for the Medical Board of California. A dedicated clinician and leader, Dr. Burrows continues to advance hospital medicine through evidence-based practice, physician mentorship, and quality-driven care.
