Introduction

Brittney R. Brown is a primary care physician who specializes in Internal Medicine with a strong focus on primary care, lifestyle medicine, and health equity. She currently practices part time in community-based healthcare settings serving under-represented populations. She served as the Clinic Champion for the DECIPHeR study, a UCLA and DHS research initiative focused on eliminating disparities in hypertension management across diverse populations.

Dr. Brown earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from Kansas City University, in 2021, where she was an active member of the Student National Medical Association (SNMA) and served as Director of Community Service. While in medical school, she participated in student-run clinical care and authored a research proposal on implicit bias and maternal mortality among African American women. She also earned a Master of Biomedical Sciences from Kansas City University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Howard University, where she graduated cum laude and was recognized as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year in Women’s Tennis.

She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Charles R. Drew University in 2024, where she also served in the Lifestyle Medicine Clinic. As a resident, she led multiple board review sessions and presented at institutional Morbidity and Mortality Conferences and journal clubs.

An advocate for mentoring and health education, Dr. Brown served as a mentor for the Charles R. Drew University Pipeline Program and continues to mentor underrepresented students interested in a medical career. She holds active membership in the American Medical Association and Charles R. Drew Medical Society.
